Our Core Promise
KAVI is built on a fundamental principle: your data is yours. All AI processing happens locally on your device. We do not operate servers that receive, store, or process your personal data.
What KAVI Processes Locally
The following data is processed and stored exclusively on your device:
- Voice recordings — Captured, transcribed, and discarded locally. Never transmitted.
- Meeting transcripts and summaries — Generated by the local Whisper and Qwen models.
- Tasks and reminders — Stored in a local SQLite database.
- Calendar cache — Synced events are cached locally for offline access.
- Conversation history — Your interactions with KAVI stay on disk.
What Leaves Your Device (Optional)
The only network traffic KAVI generates is for optional calendar sync:
- Google Calendar OAuth — Read-only access to your calendar events. Uses Google's standard OAuth2 flow. KAVI requests only
calendar.readonlyscope. - Microsoft Outlook OAuth — Read-only access to your calendar events via Microsoft Graph API.
- SMTP Email — If you choose to email reports, KAVI connects to your configured SMTP server. Credentials are stored in your system keyring.
You can use KAVI fully offline by skipping calendar integration. No features are lost except calendar sync.

Open Source Transparency
